On this date in 1944, the Allies took all of their troops to the coast of France, and said “It’s a race to Berlin! Go!” This was Eisenhower’s “This Game of Risk Has Been Going On For Three Hours, Something’s Got To Give” plan of attack, which worked for him although it NEVER works for me, and then I end up slowly retreating to Australia and New Guinea while the more patient players struggle for control of Irkutsk. What? Anyway, it worked, which was really good news in the “World Not Being Taken Over By Hitler” department.

Oh, and Russia won the race to Berlin, which ended up being not such an awesome thing.
