Happy Flag Day! IN DENMARK!

Legend has it that the Danish flag (Dannebrog) fell from the sky (skii) during the Battle of Valdemar (Volmerslaget) in the year 1219 (twylvenooneteenislag) which resulted in Danish victory (Dannesmakdown) over the Estonians (the Estonians).

On this date in 1752, Benjamin Franklin proved that lightning was electricity in an experiment using only a kite, a key, a mouse, another mouse just in case, a pair of bifocals, a prototype of the Franklin stove, and that snake in segments. Voila! Electricity, baby! Take that, Edison! Franklin just gave you what-for 95 years before you were even born! O, thund’rous snappe! Where’s your direct current now, Thomas Alva? I’ll tell you where it is: it’s in the clouds, baby! The clouds! Put that on a stamp and lick it and affix it to an envelope and sent it to the Postmaster General who just so happens to also be Ben Franklin assuming the letter takes 23 years to arrive! Yeah!
