It’s National Day in Seychelles! IB is very supportive of Seychelles because of their gloriously happy flag. So here, in celebration, some things you did not know about Seychelles:
-GDP dependent on seashell shops on the sea shore (biggest proprietor: Sally)
-Seychelles is the smallest nation in the world that issues its own currency. (http://www.banknotes.com/sc.htm) So to make up for it, they just pack it full of stuff. Check this one out:
It’s got a fish, and a turtle, and a piece of fruit, and some birds, and a map, and it’s bilingual. Currency has a lot going on.
-Giant tortoises! GIANT TORTOISES! THEY ARE GENTLE AND WONDERFUL AND I WANT ONE.
Here is Seychelles’ daily newspaper: http://nation.sc/ One of the top stories this week: Exclusive Duty Free gift shop opens its doors.
So. You know. Hurry.
